Call for papers for a special issue on: Innovative research in Clinical Approaches in Health Psychology II

Dear Colleagues

Globally, health psychology is in constant growth. It is a fertile field for research, intervention, and new developments. Many researchers, study centres, and research groups are working to understand, interpret, explain, and respond to various health-illness processes. Health Psychology is linked to a clinical model, specialized and based on psychotherapy and research, and as such, focused on the care and improvement of people’s well-being, and it is clear that in these times of pandemic, it is necessary to increase research work and address the much-needed demand for inter-and transdisciplinary work.
The current challenges for Health Psychology are determined by the increase in illnesses associated with unhealthy behaviour and their tendency to become chronic and by the possibility of reducing the effects of exposure to the risks present in our daily lives. In this sense, Health Psychology emphasises work in primary care, promoting protective factors from a positive approach, whose central thematic axes are quality of life, well-being, and positive psychological factors, prioritising the resources that individuals and social support networks have to cope with illness.
